THE COTTAGE
Serendipity, has been renovated by the resident artist's wife, Janet, in the style of the main house. It has been decorated with their personal collection of original artwork and furniture. Fully self-contained with two generous sized bedrooms each with own ensuite, a living area with wood burning fireplace and fully equipped kitchen (with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery etc). Creature comforts include L'Occitane bath products (body wash, soaps), towels/bathrobes, heating for those chilly days (Nobo wall heaters, electric blankets on beds), slow combustion wood fireplace, high quality Sheridan bed linen and goose down doonas.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests are welcome to enjoy a friendly game of tennis. Prefer to relax? Pull up a seat on the wicker furniture on the original residence veranda and enjoy the sunshine. Or in the winter months, enjoy libations by the outdoor fireplace. Staying at Hopewood offers an experience of curated rare Australian artwork, alongside the 11 acres of manicured gardens boasting unique sculptures, hidden follies and a mix of Australian and exotic botanicals.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Hopewood House is very peaceful however we do have resident dogs, chickens, peacocks and peahens who wander the grounds. Please give them space as they are curious but shy.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Hopewood House is located in Bowral, New South Wales, Australia. Bowral and surrounds offer a gentle escape from Sydney and Canberra life. The Highlands is a cool climate and considerably cooler than Sydney. There are many wineries, boutiques, antique dealers, cafes, restaurants and beautiful National Parks to explore. Ask Janet, the owner, for suggestions that may interest you.
GETTING AROUND
We are a 4 minute drive from Bowral train station. We are happy to collect guests from the station.
HOUSE RULES
No smoking. No Pets. No parties or events.
CANCELLATION
Strict · Free cancellation for 48 hours after booking
After that, cancel up to 7 days before check-in and receive a 50% refund, minus the service fee.
If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
